WAYNESBORO, VA – (October 20, 2023) Dog-themed festival at Stable Craft Brewing sheds paws-itive light on the local community.
This past Sunday celebrated all of Fido’s favorite things with Stable Craft’s first ever Barktoberfest event featuring dog themed contests, adoptions by Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, local pet vendors and charities, plus mini doggy races!
Organizers for the event noted that, “We adore seeing all the dog lovers at Stable Craft throughout the year and wanted to find a fun way to feature them and their four-legged family members. We also have a great respect for the work that SVASC does within the community and figured we could be a great pop-up adoption location. Barktoberfest was the perfect solution and we’re grateful that it was such a hit!”
The biggest reward of the day was that one of the dogs up for adoption found a new forever home during the event. A representative from Shenandoah Valley Animal Services commented, “The adoption event on Sunday was a success! Bull Nickel, our one-year-old German Shepherd Mix, found the perfect humans who came to the event after seeing it advertised. They didn’t know exactly what they were looking for till Bull Nickel came parading into their arms and laying down mad kisses! They also have a soft spot for Shepherds so it was the perfect match.”
SVASC is an open-admission municipal animal shelter for Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro. They strive to improve the lives of people and pets within the community by taking in all stray, abandoned, and owner-surrendered animals from these localities. They also offer several community-minded programs, such as low-cost spay/neuter, pet food assistance, and responsible pet rehoming services.
