Stable Craft Team

Craig Nargi, Owner | Operations Director

Stable Craft Brewing owner Craig Nargi is no stranger to building innovative businesses, and Stable Craft Brewing is just one in a long line of successful entrepreneurial endeavors. “Accomplished,” “passionate,” and “driven” are understated adjectives when it comes to describing Craig’s credentials. His fascination with food started early while growing up in Connecticut, where his exposure to a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicity fueled his interest in flavors and how food and drink connects people across religion, geography, and culture. Craig graduated from high school at 16 and was an executive chef by 23. He went on to serve as Executive Chef at Glenmore Country Club and Virginia Military Institute, and Sous Chef at Boars Head, Wintergreen and Kiawah Island Resorts. His experiences and dedication to family brought him to invent a farm-related business that melds his food service, leadership, operations, and design skills into a family-run business that allows for more togetherness.

Craig enjoys the creativity and team-building aspects of Stable Craft Brewing’s chef-inspired, working-farm model, particularly the opportunity to watch a group of professionals learn, explore, shine, and then experience the benefits of their hard work. His vision and problem-solving skills have allowed Stable Craft Brewing to navigate beyond a typical brewery operation into an award-winning, “outside the box” company that consistently raises the bar for other craft brewing businesses.

Nikki Nargi, Owner | Creative Director

Owner Nikki Nargi is the visual and marketing brains behind the Stable Craft Brewing and Hermitage Hill brand. As Creative Director, Nikki manages all aspects of ads, print materials, merchandise, packaging, and digital marketing. Starting out with an art degree and working in the gallery scene in Austin, Texas, Nikki’s path naturally progressed into a 21+ year graphic design career as an in-house designer for financial firms, telecommunications companies, in the collegiate environment, advertising agencies, and in the music/entertainment industry. Some of her notable designs were for Elvis Presley Enterprises and a variety of merchandise and promotions for celebrities such as Brian Regan, Shania Twain and Celine Dion, and Nickelback. No stranger to entrepreneurship herself, Nikki also owned her own business and is an integral part of the Stable Craft Brewing management team.

Like Craig, Nikki enjoys surrounding herself with other professionals and relishes the challenge of creating visually-remarkable marketing materials that showcase the high-quality products the other members of the team produce. Her artistic flair, attention-to-detail, and precise management of Stable Craft materials show in each image and design the company uses.

Christopher Fann, Head Brewer

Head Brewer Christopher Fann is not just passionate about brewing great craft beer that appeals to a wide-range of beer drinkers, he’s adamant about bringing consistent quality and customer satisfaction to the Stable Craft Brewing brand. Christopher handles every detail of the beer-making process, including recipes, brewing, packaging, planning, tracking, and scheduling. There are farm tasks for Christopher too, as Stable Craft Brewing prides itself on always being a farm first.

Christopher’s diverse background serves him well in fulfilling Stable Craft’s mission to deliver a superior product backed by an authentic, on-the-farm experience. His refined palate and extensive study of beer-making best practices have begun to pile up accolades for Stable Craft brews from customers and beer judges alike. Christopher’s dedication to a painstakingly-detailed production process is rewarded by seeing people thoroughly enjoy the final product again and again.

Isaac Peglow, Assistant Brewer

Assistant Brewer Isaac Peglow is the unsung hero of the brewing process, which is dependent on careful cleaning, sanitization, and monitoring/recording of a variety of readings that are important to excellent, consistent beer brewing. Isaac takes pride in maintaining a pristine environment, facilitating the precise processing of ingredients, and keeping the brewery running smoothly because he knows it is the key to great flavor. His grit, determination, discipline, and understanding of the need for fundamentals come, no doubt, from four years as a collegiate soccer player, and his desire to learn the creative side of beer brewing from his study of art.

Matthew C. Milhit, Hospitality Director

Stable Craft Brewing’s Hospitality Director Matthew Milhit knows the food and beverage industry from the ground up, having worked in the field since his early teens. In addition to his extensive experience working at highly-rated establishments like the Greenbrier Resort in White Springs, WV, Boars Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA, and Airlie Center in Warrenton, VA, Matthew brings a fascination with regional cuisine, skill in food and beverage pairings, and a love for educating customers and staff about beer varieties and the Stable Craft brand to his many responsibilities in the tasting room. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and a clear appreciation for the company’s core values shine through in every interaction.

Matthew’s intense curiosity for how things are made fits perfectly with Stable Craft’s sustainable, farm-based operation. In his spare time, Matthew has become proficient in the culinary specialty of Charcuterie, cheese making, and fruit carving, and looks forward to studying ice carving with Stable Craft owner Craig Nargi.

Raymond Crook, Building and Grounds Supervisor

Stable Craft Brewing wouldn’t be the unique place it is without its beautiful setting. Building and Grounds Supervisor Raymond Crook keeps that critical part of the Stable Craft image polished and running efficiently. His mechanical affinities and landscaping skills are clearly demonstrated throughout the property, and he appreciates the sense of independence and trust the company culture offers. When he’s not taking care of Stable Craft properties, he’s building and flying remote control planes.

Eric Kettler, Hops-to-Beer Intern

Hops-to-Beer Intern Eric Kettler enjoys every aspect of his brewery, hops fields, horse care, landscaping, and wedding venue tasks at Stable Craft Brewing and Hermitage Hill Farm.
